Hafiza Iffath Hassan will lead this semester’s weekly women’s halaqa. The content of the halaqa will focus on the explanation of the verses of the most commonly recited small chapters of the Quran and derive practical, everyday lessons from these verses to help improve one’s character and the relationship with God. This program teaches students the foundations for becoming a hafizah, using Qaidah, Qur’anic Arabic instruction and Oral Memorization.

This is a course in Arabic grammar based wholly on the verses of the Qur’an and is an invaluable for someone who can already read Qur’anic Arabic but wants to understand Qur’anic grammar. Taught by Hafiza Iffath Hassan, author of the popular text, “Qur’anic Language Made Easy.” Location: Pleasanton, CA. – – CLASS IS CURRENTLY ON BREAK – –
The goal of this program is to produce full-fledged Hafidhat, females who have memorized the entire Qur’an by heart. This is a very rigorous program which requires hours of intense daily devotion to memorization. There is a trial period and entrance exam which the student must pass in order to be accepted into the program. The program can only accommodate 10 students at a time and they must be of the utmost maturity and dedication to be considered. Locations: Fremont and Pleasanton, CA
This class will serve as an introductory course in the science of Tajweed and Qur’anic recitation. This course will cover the articulation points of the letters (al-makharij), the rules of noon and meem sakina and elongation (al-madd). In addition to covering rules, students will practice reading in class and as homework. Location: Oakland, CA
This class is intended for those who have received instruction in tajweed and have fluency in reading. The class will review basic rules of tajweed focusing on their practical application and the memorization of their names followed by individual reading time for each student. Expect 1 hour of homework each week. Location: East Bay area, CA
