Shaykha Ieasha Prime

Ieasha Prime is a world renowned speaker and scholar. She is the founder and Executive Director of Yan Taru Project, the Director of Women’s Programming at Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Virginia and the founder of the DC Muslim Women’s Conference. She converted to Islam more than 20 years ago after being a Youth Ambassador to Morrocco and Senegal. There she developed a thirst for knowledge that would cause her to sit at the feet and learn from some of the top Islamic Scholars of our time. After having participated in several circles of knowledge in the US, Ieasha decided to pursue religious studies abroad. She studied Arabic, and Quran at the Fajr Institute in Cairo, Egypt. Later, she moved to Hadramaut, Yemen and enrolled in Dar al Zahra, an Islamic University for Women. There she studied Aqeedah, Quran, Hadith, Arabic, Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Islamic law, Purification of the Heart and other religious related learning. She has received several scholarly licenses (ijaza). The work that she is most committed to and enjoys have been the development of Islamic programming, Islamic Studies curriculum and Rites of Passage programs for youth and adults. Majority of her life has been spent as an educator and activist. She is most passionate about combining Islamic studies, cultural art, activism and service for the purpose of training leaders to rise above whatever challenges stand in their way and that of the community they serve. In addition to her full-time work, she is the co-founder and Executive Director of Barakah INC, an organization committed to training Muslim women in traditional Islamic sciences with a focus on modern application. Sister Ieasha is recently known for her participation in the National Women’s March, and the courses she teaches on traditional knowledge, the challenges of race and gender in the Muslim community and Spirituality. Ieasha Prime is a proud wife and mother of three children.
Dr. Rania Awaad, MD

Dr. Rania Awaad M.D., is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine where she is the Director of the Stanford Muslim Mental Health & Islamic Psychology Lab as well as Stanford University's Affiliate Chaplain and Affiliate Professor of Islamic Studies. In the community, she serves as the President and Co-Founder of Maristan.org, a holistic mental health nonprofit serving Muslim communities, and the Director of The Rahmah Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating Muslim women and girls. In addition, she is faculty of Islamic Psychology at Cambridge Muslim College and The Islamic Seminary of America. She is also a Senior Fellow for Yaqeen Institute and the Institute of Social Policy and Understanding. Prior to studying medicine, she pursued classical Islamic studies in Damascus, Syria, and holds certifications (ijaza) in the Qur’an, Islamic Law, and other branches of the Islamic Sciences.
Ustadha Hosai Mojaddidi

Hosai Mojaddidi has served the Muslim community for over 25 years as a teacher, public speaker, author/writer, spiritual counselor, and mental health advocate. She began her Islamic studies over 20 years ago in the San Francisco Bay Area where she studied aqeeda, seerah, Hanafi fiqh, tazkiyyah an-nafs, tajwid, hadith, Arabic, and other sacred subjects with several resident and visiting scholars. She currently teaches weekly classes on Islamic studies and logic/rhetoric to middle school and high school students, and tajwid to college students for several institutions throughout the Bay Area. She also teaches weekly and monthly spiritual development classes (tazkiyyah) for adults and youth online and in her local community. She offers talks throughout the year locally and internationally on a range of topics including spirituality, self-development, seerah, women's issues, family/marriage, youth issues, social media literacy/safety, and mental health advocacy. She is a community activist and a mental health advocate and uses both her social media platforms to promote emotional and spiritual well-being and offers workshops on social-emotional learning for students & educators throughout the year. She’s a wife and mother of two and resides in California with her family.
Dr. Jessica Jocson, MD

Dr. Jessica Jocson is a southern California native who attended the University of California at Los Angeles for her bachelors of science degree in psychobiology and minor in gerontology. She completed her medical school training at UC San Diego and her residency specialization in OB-GYN at the University of Southern California. She is a board-certified physician and maintains her fellowship with American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). In seeing female patients for over a decade, she recognizes her patients often need more than a prescription or surgery. To that end, she completed a fellowship in integrative medicine with the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) in 2023. Always in the pursuit of wanting to learn more and serve her patients better, she hopes to provide resources to her patients that bridge all aspects of health through traditional and non traditional methods. She currently lives in Claremont, CA with her husband and 3 children. She is currently practicing part time within a major healthcare system in Southern California. The other part of her time is spent homeschooling her children.
Jewelle Francisco Khan

Jewelle Francisco Khan is a Certified Public Accountant in Orange County who has been servicing individuals and businesses in Southern California and several states nationwide. After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics, she went on to obtain her CPA license and later established her own professional tax and accounting practice 16 years ago in 2008. Her firm offers a large range of services from individual tax prep and consulting, to back-end business accounting, payroll, tax and business formation and organization. Jewelle resides in Orange County, CA with her husband and four children.
Roohe Ahmed, MPH, RDN

Roohe Ahmed is a registered dietitian and health educator, working for a major healthcare organization, as well as an adjunct professor at a local college. She holds her bachelors degree in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a specialization in business administration, and her masters degree in public health, specializing in nutrition from Loma Linda University. She recently obtained a Certificate of Training in Functional Nutrition from the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy. She specializes in weight management for adults and children, plant based nutrition, and chronic diseases linked to nutrition. She has a keen interest in personalized nutrition and holistic wellness. She is active in the Muslim community, serving on various boards and committees, including The Rahmah Foundation.
Dr. Sabrina Uddin, MD

Dr. Sabrina Uddin, is a board-certified dermatologist. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her M.D. from the University of Illinois – College of Medicine at Chicago. She completed Dermatology residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center where she trained in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Uddin specializes in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology and has a focus on darker skin tones. Sabrina resides in Southern California with her pulmonologist husband and two sons.
Dr. Sofia Ghani, PharmD

Sofia received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Texas in Austin and practiced as a clinical pharmacist managing inpatient drug therapy at Baylor Medical Center. In 2010, she shifted her focus to preventative health, establishing her health coaching practice and got certified as a personal trainer. Since then, she has successfully worked with individuals from all walks of life, including high school students, men and women of all ages, and seniors into their 90s, in achieving their health and fitness goals through proper nutrition, supplementation, strength training, muscle gain, and improved overall wellness. Sofia employs a holistic approach to her coaching, emphasizing mindset, inner work, and self-development. She helps clients overcome limiting beliefs, connect with their authentic selves, and empowers them with the knowledge, tools, and strategies necessary to attain the highest levels of success in their health, business and life. Sofia lives in Southern California with her 3 wonderful children. Yasamin’s philosophy—that fitness and health are a lifestyle, not a quick fix—drives her to help clients achieve sustainable, long-term success. She has worked with over 500 clients, facilitating significant transformations, including helping a 64-year-old client go from limping down the stairs to sprinting up them, pain-free, in just six months, while guiding another client to lose 70 pounds. Yasamin actively engages with her digital community on social media and has collaborated with brands like Under Armour and Women's Best. Zermina Akbary

Zermina Akbary is a Registered Nurse and Nutritionist with graduate training in Functional Medicine and Nutritional Science. Her path to becoming a Women's Health Nurse specialist was inspired by her commitment to addressing the root causes of health issues rather than merely managing symptoms. Functional medicine, which emphasizes a systems-oriented approach and considers the interactions between genetics, environment, and lifestyle, has been central to her practice. Zermina's specialties include metabolic health, hormones, gut health, autoimmunity and conception. Through comprehensive lab testing, she identifies underlying issues and helps patients thrive with lifestyle medicine.
